Fixed telecom operations have been challenged by the shift of traditional voice revenues to mobile (fixed mobile substitution) and to 3rd party VoIP offerings (over-the-top market). A fixed operator requested Northstream to provide input to a long term convergent voice and communication services strategy for the consumer segment. Northstream developed a strategy for repositioning communication services utilizing IP services and the operator’s assets in fixed and mobile business. Northstream built recommendations on lessons from multiple international markets, overall technology evolution and on the analysis of the current situation of the operator.
